Regen issues

I use my truck to haul a truck camper and 21' boat. The last trip I took it goes directly into Drive until clean. No big deal I say. It goes away.
First leg 250 miles.
On the way home it goes into Drive until clean again, then again. All within that same 250 mile stretch back.
It had similar issues with regen on a previous trip that I though was a fluke, but now I am sure there is a problem. It went into 4 different regens in 500 miles and 3 of them were drive until clean.
Has anyone seen this sort of behavior before?
Time to rip the DPF off? I'm not against that option either....
thanks

Beats me. I always went into regen every 160 mile like clock work. Last time at 200 miles, went in to drive to clean. They are just funky. If you do not emissions test in your area delete it all... I totally support DPF-R. I have the DPF-R tachyon plus. Same dongle setup as the DPF-R but also has power level settings. I got my setup from ptp and really like it. H&S if you want the dash display, DPF-R is you don't...

The Dealer could not get my truck in time for the 4th weekend. I took it to a local shop with a tech there. He took the DPF off and cleaned out as much carbon as he could, although he said it wasn't very bad at all. The computer read partial blocked when scanned.
He also said the program was out of date and loaded the latest version on there. I thought I had the latest to be honest but ok.
He ran hte truck through two separate manual regens, said it performed ok and the exhaust pressure was 20% better than before.
I got the truck back and have to say, it ran great all weekend. Saw it go into 1 normal clean cycle and that was it. So at least for the moment I believe all is well with my rig.

I still have dpf on my truck so cannot personally vouch for that.... but over the holiday weekend I had a brief conversation with a guy who was fishing the same little mountain pond I was. He had a king ranch F350 with about 140K miles. His EGR system had begun to leak coolant into the engine some time ago and so he fixed the problem with a delete rather than repair it. He said the difference was amazing and it really woke the truck up. He wasn't tuning it with any extra HP. Just running stock program minus the CAT/DPF and EGR removed with the SCT -CTS.

I think fuel quality has lot to do with that. I had filled up at same place known to have good fuel, then at a differnt station before the short miles between regens..mileage went down then too.

When these trucks go through regeneration it uses two main sensors to detect dpf loading up maf sensor and dpf pressure sensor when pcm sees less flow across the maf sensor and more pressure in the dpf sensor it initiates regeneration clean the exhaust with dpf loading up acts as restrictions so less air enters engine I work on these everyday and most time frequent regeneration is from bias maf sensor not reading correctly also poor fuel quality will cause more ash wich loads dpf more quickly always recommend add cetane booster when filling up

I personally do not recommend cleaning of maf sensor due to fact these trucks have adaptive tables that adapt to the component as they age but if you keep up with your air filters and no dirt gets in it you should be OK if you see traces of dirt around it I recommend new maf and air filter
