Fuse #3 Missing
I did some troubleshooting on the cig lighter today and quickly found that the lighter/ECM fuse (#3) was missing. I installed a new one and so far the lighter is working, however my code scanner still didn't like what it was supposed to be reading. I will drive it a bit and check for codes later. I recently bought this Excursion which was super clean and had no CEL, so I had no reason to check codes. Can someone confirm that the lack of fuse #3 only affects your ability to scan for codes and does not keep the CEL from coming on if something were to be wrong. Any thoughts on this situation? Do some folks pull the fuse when there is an issue with the ECM plug? Is fuse #3 blowing a fairly common issue? At first I thought the seller was trying to pull one over on me, but I assume that he was unaware.... Thanks in advance.

Blown cigar lighter fuses are usually the result of a faulty power adapter plugged into it.
The only thing on that fuse is usually the test connector pin 16 and the lighter. Since you didn't identify the year of your truck, can't look it up.

Thanks projectSHO89. I have a 2001 Excursion V10 Limited and the circuit is the lighter and the ECM connector/plug for the OBDII scanner. It's just strange that the fuse was missing altogether and not just me finding a blown fuse.
