Hi, This is my first time posting on this forum. I am having a problem with my truck dying on me. It happened once when I had a low fuel light come on. Then it happened this morning when I was backing out of the driveway. I changed the fuel filter thinking that might have been the problem the first time. A friend mentioned a camshaft position sensor. I do not know too much about this engine. I have replaced the crankshaft sensor in Feb. If you guys or gals have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. I would like to get this problem fixed before I leave for denver on friday.
Could very well be the Cam Position Sensor going out. Happened to me and a lot of others as well. You can buy one from Ford for about $180 or international for about half that. Takes either a 10mm or 11mm wrench to replace it. If you need a diagram as to it's location e-mail me at rvfiver at earthlink.net and I will e-mail it back to you. I believe the part number is F7TZ-12K073-A If you have a way to pull the codes from the computer and it reads either PO340 or PO344 the this is your problem.
another possibility....in the fuel tank, sometimes fittings become loose and air is sucked into the system especially prevelent when the tank is low or backing up downhill.cure is to pull the tank and do the mod. or never get the tank more than 1/2 empty.
