Forgot to mention, the guy I sold it to supposedly re-geared it with 4.10s, it had 3.55s when I owned it. Once I get my tax return, I'll start looking for a parts truck with a 460 and a C6.
Some pictures from today:
Acquired a tailgate the other day. It was new from Ford in 1996 (no Taiwan crap for me), and installed on the 1988 parts bronco I got it from. It has some surface rust, but is still in pretty good shape! The window goes up and down smoothly, and he found the key for the rear switch, and is mailing it to me.
Unfortunately he broke off 5 of the 6 bolts inside the tailgate when he was removing it. Haven't been able to remove those yet. I'm going to try welding a nut on each one.
Also cleaned up some hinges. The one on the left is from my 95, and the one of the right is from the 88. Anybody know why the 88 hinge has a big "S" stamped on it?
Sandblasted, painted black, and got new grade 8 hardware.
The rivet is pretty worn down on the 95 hinges (look at the head) and I might need to swap it out for the other 88 hinge. He couldn't get it to unbolt, so he just cut the whole post off the body for me. I can't get it off the post either (nuts are destroyed from rust), so it will wait until I can get to a welder.
I just purchased this Broncos a few days ago and it's gonna take along time to piece it all together. I have a 1984 f150 with the 460 in it and I will be swapping everything over. I'm just trying to decide what I want to do with the bronco.
