Hi all,
I'm looking for a small trim piece for my dash that goes under the ash tray door.
The trim runs under the glove box door and stops at the heat/vent controls and I assume it would continue under the ash tray door and there is two holes to mount it. I have looked for it on LMC and Dennis Carpenter but can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.
oooh. That would be someone spitting up a set. Sounds like JY time. If Orich doesn't chime soon ya might PM him. I know he goes JY searching all the time. He could prolly find ya one and ship it. He's a good guy.
these ain't to hard to find at all. they are always on craigslist, ebay and for sale threads. i'll be installing this trim in my truck when i get to my interior part of the build. BTW great looking interior it looks by the pic.

Thanks Jeff, I'll send Orich a PM if I don't snag one off of ebay.

I have looked before on ebay wit no luck. I just did a search on ebay and found a set.

Thanks carzed!
PS - PO1 did a great job on the interior, sorry about the crappy cell phone pic.

OKAY I'll keep my eye open for that small little piece
I just had my headliner trim chromed. Not cheap any more with the EPA on them and watching them close..
I know one shop here out of San Jose send there stuff to Mexico to plating.
Not the best workmanship tho.. They say turn a round time is like 3 week but ends up like 4-5 weeks.
orich
orich whats the going rate on chrome plating the headliner trim around you? i have some parts i want done but want some others prices to compare to then just whats around me.

BTW decent price on those ebay trims
The trim was $250 to chrome and it's pretty. I stripped all the paint first tho.
Another place wanted $350-400 this shop farms out chrome plating work.
sells classic car parts.
I'm sure, I could have gotten it a little cheaper if used another shop that gets it done in Mexico.. like below
They use one of those tricky names like BEST CHROME. I had gotten one of the business cards from one of the Good Guys car show so figured they would do pretty good job. They had some nice looking bumper displayed.
I used them for my front bumper getting rechrome about 7-8 yrs ago for $300 where as this other shop wanted $500 that just did my headliner trim.
The bumper is it's ok for a daily driver but far from perfect.
that's the hardest part of getting things chromed.finding a quality plater. lots of places out there can do it but there prices they charge for far from show quality and even some for driver quality are just ridiculous. chrome plating is one of those things you must do your research on while at car shows and ect. i like when shop's set up tents and you get to see there end results before you do any business with them. last thing anyone wants is to spend bookoo bucks and get junk in return.
Yeah it's back to the ol word of mouth that get repeat business..
You can't even trust Yelp all the time..
I first searched these shops up on "Yelp" and found the one that had a excellent rating
for show chrome.
This shop is located right here in San Jose it's name is Superior chrome.
At www.superiorchomeplating.com they did do great workmanship and, I was satisfied and happy with what they did.
I got the trim piece I needed a week and a half ago, thanks again crazed87!
I polished it up and slapped it on.
I don't want to sell the remaining pieces since it's not a full set, they are kinda dull, they have packing tape adhesive on them, they are slightly bent and I don't have all of the mounting clips, so if anyone needs a piece or two just PM me.

Nite nite!
I been looking but zip!
Good not any trucks with the dash trim in them lately in my area..
orich
Glad I could help. looks great on there. Having spare pieces is always a good thing the way I see it. Can't wait until I can get to that part in my build when I get to put the trim on.
