Here lately my brakes have been giving me trouble. When I ease in them they act like they used to, stop good, but toward the end of my complete stop the brake pedal is hard as a rock and requires a lot of force. Also if you have to repeatedly stop the pedal is hard. I checked the vacuum and it feels like it's sucking like it should. Maybe a worn booster?
how did you check the vacuum pump?
you need to put a gauge on it, and pump the brakes. it should hold at least 17-19 inches vacuum.
if it does not, the pump is bad.
It seems like it's leaking pressure at the pedal. I can hear a leak. There's a orange boot where the brake pedal goes in the firewall that looks broke. Anyone ever had to replace it?
