alignment

the PO of my truck raised it with blocks just high enough to get 33 inch tires on it. going down the road, if you let loose the wheel it wants to make a quick exit to the ditch. I dont have the money for a proper alignment right now so does anyone know of a how to website for alignment ??

Honestly, theres no way to really do an alignment yourself without some speciality tools. Which would probably cost you more than having an alignment done.

Me I was able to do mine on my Mercury because it used a special tool and used in conjunction with the chart you can set the alignment. But you still need to know what it is at before hand, good thing sears does free alignment checks and I got a print out.

Now the thing is though if caster and camber is fine but its just toe, you can do toe by measuring the distance between the tires from the middle tread to the middle tread on the other tire in the back then go to the front side of the same tire and measure the same tread to the same tread and see what the difference is. This should be at 0" to just over 0". But due to the raise in the vehicle heigth not just toe but caster and camber will most likely be thrown off as well.

Personally though I would recommend you get an alignment done most expensive place Ive personally seen is $100 for an alignment and it comes with a lifetime warranty.

Take the blocks back out. See how much it rubs then. Blocks in the front are considered unsafe, it would not pass inspection in my state like that.

If you did have the money to get it aligned, I bet they could not get it in. That's what usually happens when a truck is lifted without the dropped brackets and other stuff in the kits.

Lots of blocks used around my area. these are only about 2 inch i think. I got to looking and don't see any type of camber adjustment. can't post a pick of my front axle for you to see which one it is
