I have a 99 F350 diesel 4x4 crew cab dually that I put a slide in camper in and pull an equipment trailer with at the same time. I also have a 28ft. bumper pull camper as well. 170,000 miles and the transmission was occasionally missing second gear. The engine would rev up and not go right away. Also wouldn't always go into overdrive. Oil smells burnt. Pulled transmission. Got the tugger shift kit. Was going to order the $400 rebuild kit from Oregon Performance off ebay. Not sure about what torque convertor to get. Not a lot of money to play with so I had it narrowed down to two different ones off ebay. Both triple disc heavy duty with one saying extra low stall speed. No speeds given. Ones $270 and other $300. Both remanufactured 1 year warranties, no cores needed. After reading all over the net, I'm thinking just the regular stall speed not the extra low one. Just checking here to see what others might recommend. I don't put a lot of miles on the truck, I just want it to work good for what I use it for. Oh, the truck does have the TS performance 6 position chip for up to 140 additional HP. It had the Banks 60hp chip with the Banks transcommand controller on it. Swapped out the chip but the transcommand is still hooked up. Don't know if it is doing anything. Should I just remove it? Also has the full Banks exhaust with the four gauges in the cab. Thanks for any help.
