Banks Package question

I just picked up a 1997 F-350 4x4 crew cab with 123,000 mi in excellent shape with many extras. It has a banks kit on it and I want to know if the banks kits come with a chip? I tried to put a programer on it and it would not let me access the PCM, I tried several times. It is an Edge tuner ( I know they are normally junk, but it is a first gen. programer) There was no information in the truck about the kit. My question is how can I tell if there is a programer installed?? I have not looked at the computer yet to see if there is a chip in it yet.

Also to The pick of the truck in sig. was stolen 10/20/2012 from Washington state. so If anyone sees anything like it please let me know.

Yep the banks stinger kit come with a chip.
Take the keys out of the ignition. Remove the 3 nuts from Parking brake and look at the back of the PCM

Ok, can the chip be upgraded even futher than the banks settings, i had a 6 pos chip in my other truck and loved it.

Banks use a ottomind chip. No changing tunes and no upgrading

To upgrade the tunes, you will have to remove the Banks Ottomind chip and replace it with a different chip of your choice. The Banks chip is a single tune, non-reprogrammable chip like a Superchips chip or something like that.

Oh, and sorry to hear about your truck. Are you watching Craigslist and eBay for it? Maybe post up some bigger pics of the truck that was stolen (pics of the new one too) so we can keep an eye out for it.

Thanks guys that does help, I will take of the chip and replace with different tunes.
I am watching craigslist and ebay for parts showing up, I even put and ad on craigslist with pics saying it was stolen
