I'm trying to find a wire (under the dash, steering column, or in a kick panel) that shows +12vt anytime the engine is running. This includes when the vehicle is started with the factory remote start system. Since our trucks do not engage ACC or IGN unless the key is in the truck, I'm having and issue located such a source.
There is a big bundle of wires to the left of the column, on my truck they are all terminated with sealed ends since I guess my XL doesn't have all the gadgets that hook to those wires. In this bundle is where I sourced a constant hot wire, but I don't recall the wire colors.

Those are the Upfitter, PTO, and Pass though wires. I believe they are on all models of Super Dutys. My question is, do you know which wire you connected to (color) and did it only show power when the vehicles was physically running?
I can't say for sure if it does however I know for a fact fuse #56 will power if you remote start..I have my airdog2 in that fuse and it comes on if you remote start I used a fuse tap

That might be my go-to fuse. You connected at the driver side engine fuse panel right?
I'm trying to control a aftermarket shock sensor I installed (Stinger 504K). It has a wire that detects when the engine is started and disables the sensor preventing the vibration of the truck's engine from causing the sensor the trigger my hood pin (which it is attached to) thus shutting of my truck (because if you remote start your truck and open the hood without the key in the ignition, it will shut off your engine).

one of the add on wire bundle at the dash provides power when running.
I saw that document. I noticed that the Blue/White wire would be the go-to wire, however, I read in another thread that was posted that it may be a variable voltage wire and only showing power when not moving. I'll need to test it when I get off, unless someone knows for sure.
yeah drivers side fuse box. best case is you find something inside the truck but i can say that #56 is a 12v source and it gets power a few seconds before the truck turns over when you remote start

Hopefully it will work.
That's the wire that H&S recommends using to power their unit. It stays 12v while running.
I was looking at the manual, it says that slot #32 is not used. What would it normally be used for?
Yeah it's not used for anything. A lot of guys here use that spot to redirect power to their upfitter switches so you can use the high idle mod with the remote start. That's what I'm using it for. And I used one of the pass thru wires in the bundle to go inside with it.

Worked like a charm. The white with blue stripe wire in the PTO bundle is key start power only. The #32 is remote and keystart power.
Brother, I have every pass through wire AND about 6 others fished through the firewall.
Pass though
1. Siren
2. led strobes
3. Led fogs
4. Front camera
5. Hood sensor interface wire
6. Start wire for shock sensor
