Shop called and they are happy with the new steering box. I'll pick it this afternoon and see for my self.
Question, when I put power steering on my car I swapped the stock 18" wheel for a 16" wheel and it drove much better. That got ride of the twicheness. Would that help our old trucks with power steering when we drive on the highway? I know Ford decreased the diameter in the 70's. I see a lot guys with the 15" grant wheels. Do they drive better at highway speeds?
I think with a smaller wheel you will have more sway than you will with a full size wheel. Stick with 13.5" or bigger and should be okay.....
They put just over +4 degrees in it. They said too much and the truck will pull.
Caster will NOT cause a truck to "pull" unless one side is different than the other.
+4 degrees isn't bad, but if everything else in your steering is good and you still feels it wanders a little or the wheel doesn't return to center after a turn I would have no problem having a couple degrees added to the caster. Good luck, let us know how your wife thinks it handles!
