I have a '96 F150, Std cab 4X4. Are the bumper mounts attached to the frame supposed to be at a 90 degree angle from the frame? Mine are at a slightly tighter angle and are causing real problems with installation of crash bars.
Someone may have hit something in the past but I wanted to check before pulling the bumper all the way off and persuading the mounts to a 90 degree angle.
Thanks, my welds look good, the plates are just bent. I hope that a vice grips and a pipe will pull them back to straight once I get the bumper off. Any other recommendations short of a sledge hammer (no room to swing it)?

Cutoff wheel, then fresh 3/8th plate SMAW'd
Hydraulic ram w/some heat
I'd go air-compressor driven plasma followed by new plate with a stiffener (since I'm a Miller Elec fan)
It is going to be FAR easier to straighten what you have then cut the old off and weld new on. It is unbelievable how well Ford welded those dam things on
Diesel Brad was right. However, a crow bar, a tow strap, a maple tree, and slipping the clutch in reverse = 90 degrees.
I was even able to do it one side at a time with the bumper on. Amazing how well the corners of the bumper now align with the body.
The hardware that came from Go Rhino is a different story. I'm going to have to cut new supports - I should have known when the kit was advertised as fitting all F150s and Broncos from 87-96.

yeah, not even close. 87-91 is completely different than 92-97
