Nice article Ford EEC-IV system

The August 2014 edition of Hemmings Classic Cars has a wonderful article on the development, history, and theory of the EEC-IV engine management system, otherwise known as TFI or "feedback" system. They call it a misunderstood engine control system, very dependable but susceptible to faulty electrical grounds, leaving it prone to unneeded parts replacements. Comparisons are made to the GM and Chrysler systems. You can get a free trial subscription from the Hemmings website if you don't subscribe. ~Bill

Bill, you sound like a Ford Mech. I am working on my kid's 86 F-150 5.0. Do you know where the EEC/Power Relay gets it's signal voltage from? I have a brown wire with connector going in firewall, is it fused? where does it go ( to the EEC?) Nothing works without that relay picking first. I gotta get her out of my Dually before she keeps my PowerStroke. Thanks
