5.4 spark plug HELP!!!!!!!!
OK MY SPARKPLUG EJECTED IN MY #8 CYLINDER OF MY 2000 F150 WITH 5.4. a SHOP QUOTED ME $679 TO PUT IN AN INSERT. HOW HARD WOULD BE TO PUT IN A TIMESERT WITHOUT REMOVING THE HEAD? NEED HELP TRYING SAVE MONEY.

There is no need to remove the head to install a Timesert. #8 isn't easy, but it's nowhere near as hard as #4 is.
Find a shop with the right tools and the repair should cost $200-300 (or less). Call around an ask for either the TimeSert or CalVan (SnapOn) capability. Do NOT allow a helicoil or Dorman kit to be installed.
