big hands thank you for your reply,, i thought the 239 was the flathead engine so i just learned something new.. i assumed it was the 272 or 292 thanks again for your help ,i appreciate it..

I think the 239 flatty was available through 53 and the 239 Y-block was available from 54 on. Since the CID is the same and the years were very close, you almost have to say flatty or Y-block to be sure everybody understands which one you mean!
