Nice work! I am in the midst of my swap as well. Had been wanting to do the cummins swap but I got a deal on a nice 7.3L that i couldn't pass up.

Don't be skeered superdutyscaler just think of how awesome it will be when you get it done.

@thebigbee do you have a build thread on your 7.3 swap? that will be awesome when you get it done, and your truck is sick looking, I love that roof bar.

what do you do about the gauges on the dash? Im not into looking at a 7k tach and never going above 3k for a diesel.......

second biggest issue i see is since Ford uses different internals for the 4R100 from the 5.4 to V10 and 7.3 diesel i know there is no way my 5.4 4R100 is going to last more than a year after this swap. Even with the TransGo HD shift kit i don't see it holding together.....

The bellhousing bolt pattern is different between gas & diesel.

hey everybody, i've made a little more progress, in the past few weeks, so here is the latest, I got the transfer case input shaft swapped out for the np273d input, removed the tail housing from the transmission to check out the fith gear nut, and found out that the d*** bag that sold it to me, actually sold me a gas version nv4500 out of a 1/2 ton truck, but he had changed out the input shaft with a diesel version so i didn't catch it (gotta love dishonest people) luckily it was pretty easy to convert to the diesel main shaft, and since i had to anyways, i put the upgraded fully splined main shaft, and 5th gear in, and shimmed both the main shaft and counter shaft endplay to spec.

the next step is to get the trans, and t case back in, then start figuring out my hoses and wires, i will keep yall posted.

so i went to my local dodge dealer at lunch today to see if they had the tool to torque my fifth gear nut, and it turns out that they don't have it either (go figure) so i guess i will have to buy one, i was hoping to avoid spending the money on the tool and just have the dealer torque the nut for me, but none such luck..... so now i wait some more, but in the mean time i think i will concentrate on getting the wiring figured out, and hooked up. but progress is being made its just slow going. by the way thanks for all the encouraging comments guys i appreciate it.
