Engine swap question. re: Year Differences
I found an used 06 short block on Craigslist for $600 will it work? Still waiting on response on the miles of that engine.
what are my options otherwise. With a $3k budget?
Long story -
Cyl 8 has a hole in it Cyl 6 is chewed up but nothing there

Shop will rebuild mine for 8k or new/reman form ford installed for 14k. Problem is my credit is crap, I cant get a loan to fix it and I still owe $5600 on the truck. So I am looking at the best possible low rent but safe option for my situation, over the next 2-3 weeks I will have $3k to spend.
original plan was to try and part it out to pay off loan, then get a new loan on another 6.0l. If there are no other options that will be my plan.
thanks guys!

An option is to look around at govt, commercial auction sites that have International VT365 equipped trucks (e.g 4200).............many times these badly beaten up vehicles (e.g box trucks) have decent engines and go cheap..........you'll need to bring your electronics, emissions, upper end, etc because the VT365 is "simpler" (and less trouble than the early 6.0s).......

Awesome idea thank you!
