Frame Question

Frame Question
I have a 1977 F150 Ranger 4×4 and there is a part of the frame that appears to have been cut out on the front of the truck below the motor. If anyone could tell me what it was and its importance I would greatly appreciate it. I hope the picture helps.

Yeah one picture is of the passenger side and the other is the drivers side. Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the help. Good to know that I can cut them out and get back the way its supposed to be.

Yes looks like what left of some PO installed snow plow attachment, torch it off and clean up the frame.
De grease the area and it so it does not burst into flames when the torch hits it.
Are those 2 lines for the auto trans or fuel? The outside one looks like it runs down the frame, wrong side if for a fuel line.
They are a little wong in the routing, I would look into that because they are awful close to the exhaust pipe.

Those are the transmission cooler lines running down the passenger side.
