Still new to the 97 F350 with a couple of other questions
1) Squeal coming from front of engine. If it was a gasser I would go toward the alternator. But what are the other pulleys that this serpentine belt goes around?
2) Tach has quit working. I had the instrument cluster apart to replace a bulb in the 4X indicator lamp. I will assume the tach issue has to do with the bulb replacement. Any chance it is connected to the squeal?
3) Next to the indicator lights regarding "wait to start & Water in fuel" is a small red light, never has been on. Any idea what it does? Nothing mention about this in the owners manual.
Thanks
tom
Figured out the noise, need an idler pulley. No bearing n there at all. Did a little gouging of the aluminum mount. But I can get a pully / bolt in anchorage tomorrow for $45
