I didn't go OEM because the alternator was warranties through OReillys. I replaced it yesterday with a new one that they warranties out so it didn't cost me anything, and this morning no voltage issues. Started and the gauge climbed right up to 14. Thanks for everyone's help! Going OEM pretty much most things from now on.

Ztodd, it is always a happy day to see a successful repair after a person starts a thread here. I have learned so much from the generous people on this forum, that I feel confident in troubleshooting and repairing these trucks. It would simply not be possible without the help of so many of the forum members, each with their own ideas, some of which are just plain brilliant. And we now have so many years of searchable threads, the wealth of knowledge and the time generously donated to the cause of keeping these great trucks on the road without going bankrupt at a dealership renews my faith in mankind. Thank you to those here now and the guys in the past too. Larry
