Sad day, sold my trailer
I sold the big trailer I built thanks to WA's laws on homebuilt stuff. I built it in Idaho, where it was just registered since it was just under 2000lbs.
WA wants almost $1k in taxes on it, and I am not going to pay taxes on my own work so I sold it. The guy who bought it is thrilled with the strength and build quality, and I'm kinda happy he paid me to do some mods to it before he picked it up:
Strong and light. The ramps are connected by shackles so they can float somewhat but still provide a support for the tail of the trailer when a heavy load rolls onto it. When up, they are even with the deck so it adds over 3' to the length of the deck.
Still, I'm going to miss that trailer. It's the first one I actually designed start to finish. i may have to build another.
