help with 09 E359 van

Yes i know im in the wrong section but ive posted twice about my problem and havent received any help in the van section. SO 2009 E350 XL cargo van its been blowing defrost since early this winter September i think.
-Got my vacuum gauge checked from the red hard line at the back of the intake GOOD
-check at the connection at the blower box in the engine compartment GOOD -go in the passenger side under heater box pull vacuum line through firewall NO VACUUM
-call dealer they say there is a check valve $5.60 BUT you must remove the ENTIRE BLOWER BOX inside and out to replace! So today i removed the entire box took hours...... pull the box out and there is a little 2"x2" box glued to the bottom of the blower box that half way was unglued..... SO heres why i have no vacuum, so i get plastic JB Weld seal the box thingy put a ten pound weight on it and let it dry. Hook up vacuum gauge and test before install GOOD VACUUM
-NOW i reinstall EVERYTHING start the van and trucks still blowing DEFROST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So i had enough went to parts store bought six foot of vacuum line and went directly to the intake port and right to the connection under the dash. start truck and what do you know my selector is working like it should..............
-now i checked my 2004 F350 in my sig and my vacuum line comes off the motor and goes direct to the splitter under the dash no check valve or tee's So can i just leave my van the same way? Dealer wants over three hundred for the blower box and that may or may not fix the problem, and i sealed the box thing and added a new check valve? Asked dealer and they cant tell me what the glued on box is for nor if i can just hook the line direct like i have it right now....... i did a test drive and van runs normal and dash vents stay where they are selected on even if i smash the go pedal

i simply took the stock red vacuum line from the intake ran it through a hole i drilled with a rubber grommet to add protection then used the second stock hard black line that goes under the heater box behind the glove box then reused the factory white clip holder and then pulled the old line out of the vacuum connecter under the glove box and pushed the new hard black vacuum line into the connector and plugged it back in. About ten minutes and $0.00 spend
