FYI, from the owners guide:
REMOTE START CLIMATE OPERATION (IF EQUIPPED)
The climate control system will condition the cabin temperature during
remote start based on the outside temperature. Engine idle may increase
to help with adjusting the cabin temperature.
Note:
No climate control adjustments will be recognized during remote
start operation. Once the ignition is cycled to the on position, the climate
control system will return to the previous settings (last ignition-on cycle)
and adjustments can be made normally. If the previous setting was off,
the climate control system will turn off.
Automatic climate control
For hot weather conditions:

For hot weather conditions:
- The interior cabin will be cooled to 72°F (22°C).
- The cooled seats (if equipped) will be set to high.
- The interior cabin will be heated to 72°F (22°C).
- The heated seats (if equipped) will be set to high.

what is the definition of the 3 temp environments
cold, moderate, and hot.
cold weather conditions, 0°F to 32°F
the 2012 rev 4 manual doesn't define the others.
but says
For moderate weather conditions:
•
The interior cabin will be heated, cooled, or off, based upon the
previous operating state (last ignition-on cycle).
•
Heated/cooled seats (if equipped) will be deactivated.
•
Rear defrost/heated mirrors (if equipped) will be deactivated
so, if the truck thought it was 'moderate' then the seats would be off,
as I find them on remote start usually

thing is, is that the cooled seats take awhile to actually cool down, especially if the cab it really hot to begin with. I use remote start all the time, but rarely let it run more than 5 minutes before I hop in to leave. It is my belief that this is probably fairly common, and therefore many dont notice that they have been on. Like I said, the indicator lights do not come at all, and then as soon as you turn the key, they turn off anyway. I've noticed the seats a little warm in the winter time moreso than cool in the summer.

I confirmed.. temp on auto, set to 72 degrees, dual.
92 degrees here, truck in the sun all day.
remote start, opened door with keyless entry pad.
fan on full blast, seats cool.
turn key, fan goes to near off.
closed door, waited 5 minutes, opened, fan still on low.
power off, on, fan kicks in again.

the question is what does ' the climate control system will return to the previous settings' really mean? target (get to this temp) or actual (fan was on on slow at ignition off)
hey, I can go test that right now.. it was on high after the off/on cycle when I turned the truck off
| edit:
Bingo!.. fan is on high after turning the key.. it was on high when I turned off..
so this is what it means 'the climate control system will return to the previous settings' really mean? ===> actual, whatever the fan was at ignition off
that is the problem.. it should be on full auto, same as climate control power on auto. not previous fan speed setting.
