I just picked up a used 2001 F-150 Supercrew Lariat 4x4 and I'm told that if I install a dual exhaust system I'll get better mileage (true ir not i don't care, I want a good sound) but i have a problem, all the resources on the interent seem to say that my truck should only have one cat, this is where I get even more confused, my headers each go to their own cat then join after wards for a single exhaust, I want a true dual exhaust from my cats back, are there any kits for my truck that i can pick up, if anyone is totally confused i can put up some pictures.
Since it is used you can almost bet on someone altering the exhaust...why 2 cats instead of just one, I dunno.
BTW... you don't have headers from the factory, you have manifolds; if in fact you do have headers then you know for sure that it has been messed with.
I am sure there is a kit out there somewhere, but why not get creative?? find a tubing bender and buy some exhaust pipe from a muffler shop (prolly for pretty cheap) and do the system yourself...hell you ain't even got to weld it all (it is highly recommended) use those crappy clamps, lol.
I did my entire system for 300 bucks (Hooker headers, stainless steel pipe, series 40 Flows, and all the bending done myself)

Okay, this is off topic, but where do you find an inexpensive tube bender? I have thought about doing this on my van and other vehicle, but haven't the foggiest clue where to get one. Doing an internet search gets me a bunch of multi-thousand dollar tools.
