2X on the nice lookin' rebuild. Good Job. I'll REP ya for here in a second. As far as the gasket goes, sorry , I should have given you an application. Since I am a Ford Dealer Parts Man I forgot those aftermaket genius' can't look anything up in their computor without one. This gasket fit a gizzion Fords back in the day. Tell them 1980 F150 with a 302 with a cast iron intake.
Come to think of it, A hard start when hot may be vapor lock in the fuel line leading to the carb. The gas may be percolating in that line and locked there. I would get some 3/8 fuel line hose. Carefully (!)slit it down the side and the wrap it around that carb feed line. There-by insulating the radiator's heat away from the carb's metal supply line.
The tips and ideas that are on this site have helped me to complete my first time ever rebuilding a carburetor.
Today I installed the carburetor (spacer already on my truck) but was not able to locate at the auto parts store a heat insulating gasket. Really wanted to have one since you mentioned it here. Any idea where to get one or should I not go through removing the carb now?
Also, I like your tag line slogan. Attempting a task becomes easier and patience is learned in the process.
For some reason your vacuum lines look like their hooked up backwards to me. But don't maybe alright I don't have a book any more the shows that lay out..

on Pine Sol. The thought of $30.00 for a gallon of carb cleaner was not in the budget. So I bought "pine Sol" from the grocery store for $1.00 a bottle. Turns out that the product I bought was an off brand that looked like Pine Sol but was really called "Pine Glo". I bought 3 bottles ($3). I did use a brush on some areas mainly because I did not let it soak over night due to time shortage. It did turn out looking new and original. I was happy with it. Thanks for you tips, too.

Thanks I will check into the Vacuum lines? Also the choke heat tube that goes over the right bank and down to the manifold was not hooked up in this photo. I'm waiting for the new set to arrive at O'Reilly's Auto Parts.
