Looking for Ford 332 Engine

We are looking for a Ford 332 Engine for our 1957 Ford F-800 firetruck. The engine in the truck is a rebuilt which was installed in the 1960's. Our mechanic says that it is worn out and we need to find a replacement. Trying to save this old girl without breaking the bank. Any leads on where we might find a 332 engine would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link to a website with pictures of the truck.

Thanks... Brian

That is a different 332.
The big Y 332s are out there but not that easy to find. Most I have seen are in trucks sitting in fields or junkyards. It might be easier to get an FT 330 or FT 361 - they have the same mounting and your transmission might fit up with few mods.

Talking Fire Truck

I have a 57 F600 that had a Y block when built, I installed a FE 390 . It is an easy swap and works very well, if you want a FT will fit just as well. I have installed both styles over the years and they make a great upgrade. It's an easy swap and will look like a factory installation if you take your time.

Good Luck ------ Hotwrench

Rebuild

Thanks for the help on the engine. After a lot of thought and discussion, my dad and I have decided to pull the old engine and have it rebuilt. We know the block is not cracked and were afraid that if we just tried to drop a used engine in, it might have the same issues our old one did. To save some $$ we are going to try to pull the engine and put it back in ourselves. This will not only save some cash but give us the opportunity to clean up the engine compartment and bring it up to the same quality as the outside of the truck.

I have never attempted anything like this before, so I've got my fingers crossed I can figure out how to put everything back together. I will post some pics of the progress.
