2006 F150 electrical problems
Hello Ford family!
I recently had a generic key made for my 2006 F150 XLT and tried to use it(like a fool I've realized). It didn't work and I then started the truck with the old key with no problems. I drove to a work meeting and as I was walking up to the truck on my way out the alarm went haywire, there was a bunch of clicking noises in the cab and the horn went bonkers, not a normal alarm sound. After an hour the truck started right up and I drove it to an auto electric shop. It started for them every time, and they said they couldnt find a problem whatsoever. I picked it up, using the original key, drove it home and when i turned it off the same thing happened. The dealership says I need to by a new key and one mechanic said the clicking noise was probably a relay switch. Please help!
