sputter when changing tank selector

94 f150
Occasionally the truck will sputter for a half second as soon as the fuel selector switch is changed. What is getting ready to fail fuel pump, selector switch? No delay in the sputter happens as soon as switch is hit.

All the trucks I've ever had and all the other trucks I've driven do this. Nothing to worry about.

Agreed, nothing to worry about there, just switching tanks.

It's normal. The way to prevent that, or at least minimize the backlash in the drivetrain when it happens, is to let off the throttle just before you switch tanks.
