I was looking for some opinions/advice/feedback on thefollowing: I have a 2004 f250 V10 Crew SRW and the transmission has been slipping under any hard acceleration (RPMs over 2,000). Took it to a local transmission shop and was told it has a bad front (forward?) clutch and rebuild would be $2,200.
I was about 4 months out from selling/trading the truck. My question is do I get the repair then sell/trade in the truck on a new one? Or do I attempt a trade in with a Ford dealer without the repair (I would obviously inform them of the transmission issue)?
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Reason: spell
I wouldn't tell them anything, baby it and trade it in.
You will never see the 2200 back especially on a trade in.
I would sell it outright personally, a rebuilt trans is a good selling point in a used truck. If you have it rebuilt I wouldn't trade it in, you can at least get your money back for a trans rebuild with a private party sale.

X2. A dealer isn't going to tell you everything that is wrong with the truck you are buying from them. Plus, they are looking for every reason thy can find to bring down your trade in value.
