78 f150 custom help

Hi, Im new here and I am in need of some serious help. I just bought a 78 f150 custom 4x4 with a 351m. It started yesterday but ran rough. The guy I bought it from said that it was getting too much fuel. I also noticed that the distributor was loose. Today it will barely turn over. I put in a new starter and solenoid and that didn't seem to help. I don't have any idea what is wrong with it now.

The first thing to do is set the timing and see how that helps, you may need nothing more than a good tune up and perhaps a carb overhaul

As the previous poster said the first thing I'd do is work on the timing and tweak/replace the carb. More info on the purchase would help. Did it set for a long time without being drove prior to you buying it?
