85 Bronco conversion

Hi there guys and girls I have an 85 351 auto straight gas Bronco 4x4 in Australia and thinking of a new engine as mine is tired would it be possible to fit a later model 7.3 litre diesel in this truck ? Sorry I'm not much of a mechanic but love my Bronco and any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated cheers Dave .

You can put a 7.3 in a Bronco. Takes alot of fabrication. And as soon as you get in a tight situation that 7.3 will destroy the TTB dana 44 and most likely the rear end too. All depends on how much $$ you want to spend. Was 85 first year of 8.8 or was it 86?

My '83 Bronco and my '84 trucks all have 8.8 rear ends. Not sure what the first year was but I would have to say '83.
