Lock cylinder?

Lock cylinder?
I can't get my ignition cylinder back into the ignition switch. Any tips? It goes in 90/95% of the way but it won't lock into the slot that's here. I tried to use a screw driver to make the lock point in different directions but that just resulted in some wiring catching on fire (check the electrical sub-forum for those details.)

Well don't I feel dumb -- Found a little pin on the key cylinder that allowed it to rotate one notch further counter clockwise. Slide right in. There's your answer if google brings you here in the year 2017.

You need a paper clip in the small tumbler hole. Put the key in the tumbler and put it in the hole below the key or have the hole on the bottom.
It should go all the way in then turn it to the left and remove the safety pin and it should lock? I think that the way to do it, if I remember right??
