88 F150 tailgate panel screws
Does anyone know what size screws hold the access panel for the tailgate? I've had the panel off for a while since the handle was broken but the screws got misplaced and I fixed the handle so I want to put the panel back on.

I believe they are 3/8" X 3/4" but the ones I pulled out of mine were goofy and had a point like a wood screw but yet they were torque drive like stock?

Thanks, I'll see what I can find that might fit while getting a non-torx version.

I used some 3/8" X 3/4" stainless steel hex head screws while re-assembling a tailgate on a '96. Worked fine, and stainless steel was a plus
