I thought about this the other day and thought it may help out other people if it turns out the bumpers are different. I know the Excursion received the 05 front end in 05 but it stayed leaf sprung. SD's got coils in 05+ so here is my question, everyone who does an 05+ conversion on their 99-04 trucks usually can't use the side brackets just the front two. Does the 05 Excursion Bumper have different side brackets that mount to the leaf sprung front ends? When i did my install the bumper came with brackets but i could not use them because they did not line up with the old 99-04 side brackets but I'm assuming the hangers were no different in 05 for the Excursion so is there a different variant that can be used for us guys that converted? It would make me feel better i guess because it would keep my bumper from sagging to one side (aftermarket but planning to switch to OEM because of rust within a year).
The Excursion hangers must be different then right? If they are the same as the SD one's then wont the bumper brackets not line up or not be there lol.
I'll have to look into the 2wd ones I never thought about that.
My '05 2wd Excursion has the same brackets holding the body out. I have a different plate/bracket than the piece the leaf spring is connected to.
But the other brackets all mount to it.
