I've got a 77 f150 ranger with a 351w. recently changed the thermostat and flushed the coolant, but I'm not sure if I burped it correctly.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I usually squeeze the lower and upper radiator hoses a bunch of times with the cap off and the truck off. That seems to dislodge the air bubbles. After I run the truck with the cap off until the thermostat opens.
By remove heater hose on the intake lets out the trapped air. Then reconnect with coolant starts to flow from it.
If you don't have the modified thermostat that has a small drilled 1/16" hole in it, and have the hole positioned at 12:00 O:clock setting which vents most air at refilling with coolant.
