Going to add some Rev X with Rotella T6 poil change this weekend in my 2007 F250 6.0L. Is it necessary to remove the pipe and pour it straight in or can you just add it to the oil fill tube? Does it really matter?
To the oil fill tube or in where oil filter is. Seen few that say pull the pipe and pour down the hole and others say just pour in without removing tube.
Either way Rev X will work its way into the oil. Whichever gives you better piece of mind i guess? You can pour oil/additive into the oil filter housing without pulling the tube just fine
Why do people pour this in the filter housing? What does that accomplish over the oil fill tube?
Some guys like to remove the standpipe in the filter housing and pour it through the hole in the center of the housing, by doing this the revx goes directly into the HPOP reservoir and gets to the injectors faster.

Surprised no one has asked yet, so I will ask. Why are you adding RevX to your oil? If you are trying to prevent something, it won't work. If you are trying to fix something, it won't work. It might help briefly, but it won't fix anything and it will come back. I tried it, everyone said not to but I did anyway. It got me about 2,000 miles and then stiction came back. Waste of money. Save it and fix the offending injector(s).

Lol I love this topic!
Josh my snake oil buddy I agree it dosent work instantly, it took 1-2oo miles to kick in. But it did work.
Spd I no what your saying and I have to be honest I spent the money knowing I would march in for a refund. Instead I don't believe it either but I have around 3000 miles and still running like new.
Only thing I now add oil to the fuel ...geez if I know
I splashed two bottles in my oil filler tube and let my already warmed up truck idle for 10 minutes. The next morning idle quality was noticeably better. 3/4 of the way through the next oil change it was back to it's old ways. I think it does have some value as a diag tool in that if it helps, you likely have stiction issues.
I put the product in before seeing Bill's (powerstroke help) video about pouring it in the oil filter standpipe hole but I take some of what he says with a grain of salt anyway .
