quick help needed
At mechanic getting ready to install new oil filter base. Do we need to replace the entire base or just unscrew the 2 bolts to swap out the bypass valve assembly?

Just pulling the filter standpipe and replacing the bypass spring assembly seems so much easier the pulling the motor apart to access all of the bolts for the entire assembly.
