Chips/tuning
I know this has been beaten and drug in the mud, but want advice on chips/tuners. I keep reading posts about how long it is taking to get PHP chip, so think I am going to go the F5 route, not worried about changing or adding tunes. I currently have Superchips, which is fine, but not impressed with towing tune. Those with experience in both Superchips and DP, is DP going to be much different? I don't need to be the first person to hunting camp, but don't want to feel like I am pushing my pickup to its limits either. I tow a 28 ft TT that weighs 7800 dry and pickup feels underpowered with Superchips. Thoughts/suggestions. I have 2002 F350 with intake/exhaust and gauges.

Thanks for your replies, just don't like the idea of having the selector switch out in the open. My wife and soon to be teenagers will be driving the pickup. For those who don't want other drivers messing with switch and tunes, where have you discretely mounted the switch? Thanks.
Lower EGTs is good, the Superchips climbs right up there and just doesn't seem to produce the power that I think the pickup is capable of. What do you guys think about mounting the switch to the backside of the big fuse door under steering column?

I am convinced that the F5 is the way to go. What is everyone's experience with tow tunes and weight. My trailer will be around 9500-10000 loaded with all the gear. Is the 60 tow all I need for that load. I know that is the range DP recommends. I will never go heavier, is there a need for the 80 tow? Just how difficult is it to get coating off PCM board? Honestly the installation of the chip itself is what has been the hesitation for me. Thanks again.
It is pretty straight forward. There are youtube video's on it, just make sure NO KEYS IN THE IGNITION, and don't take off too much of the tinning with the scouring pad and you'll be good to go. You will like that 60T. I just pulled my 9K TT this past weekend in it. EGT's were great.
Good to hear, what kind of EGTs where you seeing with 9000 going down the hwy. was that enough power to haul that load in the 60tow comfortably? How is it with hills. I am in Oregon and have some decent climbs. Thanks again.
My wide went from Mpls to Lincoln NE via 35W and I80...never saw 1300 with the DP 40T....at 20k combined, with 160/30's.
I have the 40T and 60T and DD is my 80E! I have a 34ft fiver and that I know is over 13k. I have been using the 40T to go over the Mtns on my way to Fl. It is pretty steep and my EGT's are right on the money.
Once on the flatlands I have been working on using the 80E because it pulls like a freight train.
The good thing about gauges is I can keep a eyeball on my EGT's and if I get a hard grade pop it into 60T and keep on truckin!
With the 80E shift profile trans does not drop out of OD as fast as the tow. Also my trans temps are really great ! stays well under 200 deg. BigRed is a towin machine!!

So you find yourself switching tunes while towing? I assumed you would put it in your tow tune and forget about it. Sounds like a lot if guys just tow in their 80 dd as opposed to tow tune, is that accurate? Thanks for all the replies.
I switch mine a lot. Drive in 80e usually, but switch to stock in the neighborhood because of the noise. Will sometimes drive in 60t because it shifts better in shorter, slower hills. I also use the fast idle during winter. I would like to use the decel but never has worked well.
