Heli, lend them to me for a while, and we will see how it works under warranty OK?

I understand what the OP is asking and the responses make perfect sense except one thing. On the forums here i have read more than one time (and mind you this is hear-say) that people get consistently better milage in the 80/100hp tunes if "if" they stay outta the long skinny peddle.. So wouldnt that be argument to get the higher tunes as well?

The ones getting the little better mpgs most likely had new/rebuilt stageI's put in at the same time. My 97 f250 got they same mpgs with with stageI's and II's and was 1-2 better than stock

We've only ever seen the best mpg with a stock truck.
I, nor anyone I personally know, has ever gotten better mpg with any sort of modified injectors regardless of other upgrades, turbo, tuning, etc.

So, would that be a stock truck with tuning you've seen the best MPGs with?

Jim I think the reason people report better mpgs it the fact that they are going from wore out injector that's not working correctly to new/rebuilt that function correctly

EXACTLY...
I wish more people that read online about better mpg with injector change would also read this.

Best we've seen is a bone stock truck, or stock with mild tuning.

That's what I think also.

In my OBS when I did stage 1s, I pulled the stock 265k mile injectors for the much lower mileage stage 1s and picked up ~2 mpg depending on how hard I beat in it. It went from ~18 IIRC to 20. Since then I've run 160/80s and 160/100s in it for quite awhile and saw no difference in mileage. All injectors were built from different sets of cores too. The 160/100s in it now were built from Mikes stock AA injectors that he pulled to do stage 1s. Lol

In my SD I pulled the stock ADs out at 171k miles for the 160/100s and I picked up at best 1 mpg so far. I was getting anywhere from 13-14.5 before and the best I've gotten since then was 15.3. I haven't been able to keep my foot out of it for a whole tank. Lol.

That might also be why we usually don't see a mpg increase. It's too much fun to NOT drive like uncle grandpa.

Indeed. I went 6 months without cops even looking at my SD. 10 minutes into the test drive with the new injectors and I got pulled over. LOL Tell the cop we are just "testing", I knew I was speeding, and then Carl asks the cop if he wants to race.... It's a vicious cycle. With great power comes great responsibility. For those of us who are less responsible, great power comes with great moments talking to cops after being pulled over.

I'm going to hijack my own thread Was there a noticable difference in power between the 160/100s and the 160/80s? I'm assuming not, but how about egt differences?

Not with a stock turbo. Are you looking for a full on build?

Love the notchback by the way. I hate that I got rid of my '93.

It's won't be that big of a difference.
If you don't plan on upgrading the turbo then don't go any bigger then stageI's

When I went from stageI's (160/stock nozzles) to stagesII's it was a whole different animal and it cost me a stock turbo and was on the line of needing a new trans. But a ******* hit me and totaled the truck

Lol the circle of of life. You got the stageI's from Cody. You got my stocks, I got the stageI's which became II's, and now Todd has them. And I'm pretty sure everyone has broke something with them.
Wonder who is next in line to get em ? Lol
