Newb from MN
An old friend of the family drove a 1955 F-600 back from CA to East-Central Minnesota back in 1972. The truck has been on the farm ever since and, as best as he can remember, has never seen salt. It's got a small rust hole in each cab corner but is otherwise straight. Only thing it's missing is the engine (239 inch Y-block) that he pulled out to run in a homebuilt forklift.
I'm getting the truck as well as a beat up short box that I'll likely just use as a pattern to build new bedsides. I haven't decided if it'll get a frame swap to a late model half ton or if I'll modify the stock frame to IFS and shorten the rear to 110" wheelbase...
When I get started on it I'll start a build thread.
I have extensive fabrication experience, mostly in Jeeps and tube buggies, but also a hot rod or two and some race cars as well. I haven't done much sheetmetal forming, but will get into that soon I'm sure.

Welcome from another MN Guy (south of you a ways)...
Looks like a cool project! Have you given any thought to making it a resto-mod One-Ton? Imagine running widened rear fenders on a narrow bed with duals on Chrome wheels!
I think that would be pretty cool myself... At the end of the day, it's only your opinions that count as it has to scratch your itch...
Take care and have fun!
