in a few months i am looking to swap the engine in my 1991 bronco. this is the first EFI Ford engine i have ever messed with so i am quite new to it. basically what i am asking is if i went to get a rebuilt 351 Longblock what would work and what would i need to change as far as the EFI system goes? will all the accessory brackets from the 302 work and what flywheel will i needor anything else for that matter? i figure a 351 will give me more power while not adding to much weight to the truck and not getting to radical like a 460. any ideas would be greatly appreciated and i am always open to other ideas you all have.
thanks
justin
1991 XLT Bronco 302 E4OD
P.S. i got this truck about a month ago for FREE and the rear main is leaking, along with the fact that the 302 doens't seem to have the power it should prompting the want for a new engine.
you will need for 351 swap. 351 lower intake, distributor, accessory brackets, oil pan, water pump, eec computer of rig with same setup especially because you have e4od tranny. also 28oz damper and flywheel.
what you can use off of 302. upper intake, valve covers, alt, powersteering, ac, exhaust manifolds/headers . I would get new motor mounts because you dont want to replace them later. all the wiring would be the same. radiator, fan, im sure im missing something.
its a strait forward swap, i will be doing this in the fall. here is a good site for a motor with good warranty. http://www.ford-motors-engines.com/index.html
