Ok, Ive searched and searched the forum and cant seem to find this answer.
So got all the wiring done on for the trailer, but I have everything working except the trailer running lights. Which wire coming off the factory harness pigtail goes to the running lights on the 6/7 blade terminal connector??
I forget which one I used, I believe it was the white/red wire the previous owner had used, so assumed that would be the one.
I was running out the door when I read Brad's response. I know the brown wire is the running light terminal, but I need to know which wire on the FACTORY WIRE HARNESS pigtail goes to the brown wire or running lights terminal?? I used the white/red which is incorrect, thats how the previous owner had it.
The 1988 diagram shows the wire color to be Black.
The 1990 diagram shows the wire color to be white with a red stripe.
Sorry I do not have a 1989 but would think it would be like the 1990.
Ok, so the white/red stripe is the one that I wired to it. With the head lights on, I probe the wire its not showing any power. Guess I will have to chase it back and see where it lost power at. Just wanted to be sure that im chasing the correct wire and not my tail right now.. this project should have been a simple one not this nightmare.
Alright I chased that white/red wire all the way up under the hood, where it plugs into the "trailer tow" plug/circuit and there is no power there. Dont know what to do at this point, any suggestions??
The relay is making a clicking sound. Checked fuses, all are good. I have one solid black wire that is hot on that relay.
Is it possible that the relay needs to be replaced even know it sounds like its closing when you turn the lights on?
Might start there tomm, napa has the relay in stock for cheap.
