Hey All, Havent been on in awhile cause of the Army, but now that i'm home i am having trouble with my '94 f150 4x4 I6. When i pulled the codes i got 2 of them, one was 172 - which is Right HEGO indicates lean, and the other was 332 - which is EGR valve opening not detected. Now im new at this so i dont have a clue as to what either of those means or how top fix the problems so any help that i can get would be greatly appreciated.
Both of them suggest you have a vacuum leak in the plenum (upper intake), possibly RIGHT at the vacuum tree where all the lines connect. Does your brake seem to have the appropriate amount of power assist?
Get a Haynes manual (~$12 at most parts stores) &/or a Ford/Helm service CD (~$10 delivered off eBay) ASAP, but use this link until then.
Thanks for the info steve83 ..... i replaced some of the vacuum hoses that were worn out and then cleared the codes and it ran good for about 100 miles and now the check engine light is on again. So once again i pulled the codes and got a #332 again, which i think is an EGR error message. If it is where is the EGR valve at in the I6's and how hard would it be to replace? Also if anybody knows how much they run that would be helpful too...thanks
The EGR valve is toward the rear of the motor on top(driverside). There should be a green vacuum line going to it. Hardest part will be getting the old one off. There is a lot more to the EGR system than just the EGR valve. Check your second cat where the EGR pipe connects. These usually rust and crack.

The EGR doesnt' connect to the cat; they're separate systems. The whole EGR system is the supply pipe, the EGR, the EVP sensor on top of it, the EVR solenoid vacuum valve that controls it, the vacuum lines & wires that link them, and the EEC.
The Haynes manual explains exactly how every system on the engine works.
