I'm doing the flush portion of my egr delete/oil cooler replacement/turbo rebuild and I'm stuck on coolant. I've searched high and low but could not find any of the recommended types.
The only thing I could find is a red colored Zerex HD Extended Life formula...the top says recommended for CAT Cummins Detroit Diesel International Mack Deere and says "Diesel Ready".
It didn't say Ec-1 on it, but has a slurry of industry specs it meets.
The Zerex HD Diesel Ready is what I'm using. My bottle does say CAT EC-1 on it however. If it helps, the UPC code is 2888250124. Their part # is ZXEDRU1 for the pre-diluted. I don't have a bottle handy of the straight stuff to give you that part #.
Thanks...I figured I had the right one, but the label is different than everything I've seen online. I checked on Zerex's website, I have ZXED1 - concentrate CAT EC-1 rated.
Happy now that I picked it up for just under $15/gal!

Yeah, that seams to be the best deal going for the EC-1 coolant -- I couldn't find the Zerex in my area so went with Final Charge -- about $10 more per gallon!
