Coolant

Am going to redo Oil cooler o'ring seals and was curious what you guys think best coolant would be. It has green in it right now any reason I could not switch to cat extended coolant or is it even worth it?

Yes, i would not run regular green. Our trucks need certain levels of SCA's (system coolant additives) to prevent cavitation. If youd like some more info on it, a search on it will come up with tons of info. I belive the CAT stuff comes recharged, as does Fleetcharge and i think the John Deer stuff does too.

Fleetcharge is probably cheaper than the CAT stuff, you can get it at Oreillys.

So does the fleet charge or cat come premixed? I currently use international dc-14 I think is what it's called with three gallons conc. coolant and three gallons distilled water. Any how thanks for reply I will do a search as well.

The fleetcharge comes precharged with SCA's and is a concentrate. You mix it with distilled water.

Ok thanks I will probably use the 4 gallons fleetcharge. I use the fleetguard oil filters and have had good luck.

Never seen their oil filters. But their coolant lasts pretty long, ive started checking my SCA's and the levels are solid still after 15k miles
