Holy Crap, I've Been Published...
Well, OK... its really just a letter to the editor in the August issue... BUT ITS CAR CRAFT!
First, a little back-story: I've bemoaned the death of Super Ford for years. That the mag's name lives on on the cover of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords is of no comfort. Super Ford had real tech, cars (not all Mustangs) and trucks that weren't flawless. Sometimes they had actual rust! Their tech was frequently pages of words with line drawings, diagrams, descriptions & stock part numbers rather than glossy pics of mega priced things made out of unobtanium. Frequently they actually told you where & what to look for in junk yards & how to adapt it to your own Blue Oval product. RIP Super Ford
With the advent of E-readers & cheap subscriptions, I started subscribing to CC, since they are one of the FEW mags out there that actually do things that are not just un-ending advertising fluff for select manufacturers. They actually pull junk out of yards to do tech & frequently do Fords.
Since July '12 CC has done a series of articles based on chevy 454s called Blue Collar Big Block. My letter was a call out to do a "True-Blue, Blue Collar Big Block" based on a 385 series engine in a '90s model F-series. Particularly since the 385 series can be built bigger & stronger than the stock block rat. I even asked them to do some E4OD work...
THEY SAID I WAS CLAIRVOYANT! And they asked the readership what they think of the proposal.
So. If you want a premier national publication to do a series of articles on one of our generation's truck as well as building & stroking a 460 from cheap to expensive, go on over to CC's web site & tell them so.
Like I told CC, make the GM faithful wrap their heads in duct tape so they can find all the pieces after it explodes.

For as long as I've been here, there's pretty much a weekly "What do I do with the 460 in my truck?", so this might be a great chance to see some nice work on somebody else s dime.
At any rate, I did a screen grab. The letter is, I think, about 98% unedited and the title is changed. There should be "Clydesdale" in front of Mustang & I'm pretty sure I typed "2WD" & not "RWD (At least I intended to), but I'm not complaining. Can't find the original either.
