Plug-in under drivers seat????

I have a 99 F150 4.6 v-8 2-wd that has an unconnected 2-wire plug under the drivers side of the bench seat. The plug is disconnected and 1 of the wires is missing about 1 inch section. I have no indication of a malfunctioning airbag system (no light) so I am wondering just what this is for. I suspect it is for the airbag system. I would really hate myself if I got into an accident and the steering wheel airbag did not deploy because it did not sense a drivers weight.
Can anyone elaborate?
Thanks

I belive that plug would be for your seat belt minder. I can't remember what mine looked like (how many wires) but I'm pretty sure thats it. So if you always wear your seatbelt and never have the light go off, or if the lights never gone off period, I'd say thats it.

Its either the plug for the seat belt reminder like he said or its the plug for power seats. If your truck don't have power seats it will still have the plug in for them.
