impressed with ranger

We decided to take my dads ranger to the beach today and fit a total of 12 people plus our gear in it. 9 in the back and 3 up front. We had close to 1800 lbs in it and it was squatting less than 1500 series dodge and chevys I have seen with the same amount of weight in them.

Yup, most of us that own them, know them to be a solid built, reliable, capable, light duty truck & we seem to think Way more of them than the pinhead Ford upper managment!!!! lol Maybe someday they'll come out of their inability to manage costs, such that the Ranger will be produced & be profitable again. So far the 99 in my signature has done everything I've ask of it & is still in good condition, so I'll likely keep it as long as I'm alive!!!!!

I'm 37 and never owned a car. I told my Dad in my teen's in the 90's that I wanted a Ranger when I grew up. 98' I turned 21 and bought a slightly used 97' 4 cylinder single cab. I had that until 02' when I leased an ext cab 3 Liter. Turned that in and leased an 04' 4X4 ext. cab. Turned that in and purchased an 06' 3 liter that I had for only a short time until buying my current 08' 3.0 Liter. Yes, the Ranger has proven itself to me, and know I have the new car bug. Unfortunately the slightly used 13' F150 single cab 5 Liter with under 10,000 miles calling my name is going to continue its sitting on the dealer lot that I travel past daily in my commute.

Yep, my work truck is a 2001 Edge V-6. I've done tons of huge loads. I have 166K miles and I've only replaced the alternator and rebuilt the transmission. Great truck!

They don't break. I've never owned a car, only Rangers and only one has been a bum ticker. Traded it in for my current one and I have no problem relying on it for another 10 years. That Vulcan 3.0 is absolutely bulletproof.

Heck, I'm still on the original tail lights - how many modern vehicles have bulbs that last almost 15 years? I see 2 year old Mercedes with LED lights failed all the time.
