I guys, new kid here, but glad I found this site!! In a bit of a hurry right now but a quick question if i may. I just got a 1960 f-250 2x4 long bed for a great project truck. I has an automatic trans. with a shifter lever coming out of the floor, not the tree and there are no old holes in the steering column. Was this a factory setup originally?

welcome to FTE Ed, sounds like you have a factory 4 speed. can you post the numbers off your tag in glove box? then we can see if your truck came from the factory with a 4 speed. oh yea, we all like pictures...lots of em.
The factory installed automatic had the shifter on the column. If your truck has it on the floor, someone either put in a floor mounted shifter for the original automatic, or they replaced a manual with an automatic and used a floor shifter.

Thanks you for the conformation, I knew better than a floor shift linkage being a factory option but I had to ask. I won't be picking up this truck until the 10th of June so I won't be able to get the code numbers till then

Welcome to FTE
A/T shift lever was originally on the column, previous owner installed a floor shift.
