Hi, I am new to the forum and fixing cars. I do have some mechanical background as I have fixed F-16's for the AF for a few years. I have just bought a '84 BII 2.8L V6 4x4 with Manual hubs. I got this gem for only $200.00 and have used it as a learning vehicle. I have replaced radiator, smog pump, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, and just yesterday, the pressure hose for my power stearing. The question I have is this, I get white smoke when I start the engine. It does not have a problem starting and doesn't smoke after it is started, I am clueless what I can do to stop this since I am not versed on fixing autos and am learning from this forum and friends as I go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As it starts does it go POO-POO-POOF! and then quit smoking altogether, and then the exhaust is clear as crystal the rest of the time?
If so, mine does it too, and I dunno what it is, but I have the EFI 2.9, not the carbureted 2.8.
